Scope and results

We supplied an advanced VisionCore graphics server to the 112 Emergency Call Center in Radom, which reports to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration (MSWiA). The unit drives a distributed set of information displays — including a central video wall — located in the operators’ open-plan operations room and in the management room (14 monitors in total). The system integrates complex, dedicated dispatch applications without latency. The fact that this center has once again chosen PCS’s proprietary technology in the sensitive mission-critical segment is direct proof of its full confidence in our platforms, which operate under strict 24/7/365 conditions.

Emergency call centers handling the single emergency number 112 are facilities of strategic importance to the country’s internal security. In an environment overseen by MSWiA, what matters most is absolute continuity of operation 24/7/365, operator ergonomics and instant situational awareness. The fact that this strategic unit has again entrusted the modernization of its operations hub to PCS technology confirms the reliability of our platforms in the mission-critical segment, where every second can decide whether a life is saved.

The main challenge: integrating the Ministry’s closed application ecosystem

The biggest technical and software challenge in this project was integrating many highly specialized, dedicated applications used across the Ministry’s organizations:

  • A heterogeneous software environment: The center relies on a range of distributed operational tools — from form-based call-handling systems and ICT databases (SI CPR), through advanced digital GIS maps and caller location modules, to dispatch communication systems and video streams from city CCTV.
  • Latency-free image aggregation: We designed and deployed an architecture that captures these diverse sources without conflicts and merges them into a single, synchronized graphics environment — with no delay, no loss of quality, and in compliance with the most stringent ICT security requirements.

The VisionCore unit: information displays and the video wall

At the heart of the deployment is a graphics server from our proprietary VisionCore line, designed for uninterrupted operation under heavy graphics loads:

  • Coordination of two critical zones (14 monitors): A single, powerful VisionCore unit drives and coordinates a distributed set of information displays across two spaces:
⚬ 112 operators’ open-plan room: the central video wall and information monitors in the main room, showing current line load, incident maps and the availability of emergency services.
⚬ Management room: analysis and command displays that give managers an immediate view of the region’s operational situation without disrupting the dispatchers’ work.
  • Flexible display scenarios (presets): The system lets users define ready-made layouts of windows and sources that can be switched in a fraction of a second. Managers and operators can move instantly from routine monitoring of current calls to major-incident mode (e.g., a major transport accident or severe weather).
  • Shared situational awareness: Information critical to an ongoing operation can be instantly cloned or sent between the open-plan room and the management room, keeping command perfectly coordinated.

Ergonomics and support under high stress

An emergency call operator works under intense time pressure and carries great responsibility:

  • Centralized display control eliminates information overload at workstations — key indicators, incident density maps and the status of the emergency services (Police, State Fire Service, Emergency Medical Teams) are always visible within the optimal field of view.
  • The advanced graphics server ensures crystal-clear legibility of fine detail on GIS maps and diagrams, with no eye-straining flicker or stutter.

PCS technology chosen again for mission-critical applications

For us, this deployment carries particular weight as a reference:

  • The strongest proof of client trust: The fact that the Emergency Call Center has once again chosen PCS technology is the best confirmation that our earlier deployments have performed flawlessly under real operating conditions.
  • Confirmation of engineering expertise: In the public safety sector, decisions to continue a technology partnership rest solely on hard data and failure-free operation. Being chosen again demonstrates our systems’ uncompromising stability when it matters most.
  • Security and sovereignty: As a domestically developed solution, VisionCore gives the institution full technical control, direct R&D backing and immediate service support straight from the manufacturer.

Key benefits for the client

  • Mission-critical 24/7/365 reliability: VisionCore’s industrial-grade architecture ensures stable, uninterrupted operation during round-the-clock emergency duty.
  • Faster decision-making: Merging distributed Ministry applications into one clear picture enables an immediate assessment of the scale of a threat and faster dispatch of rescue resources.
  • Efficient coordination between teams: Running 14 monitors (including the video wall) simultaneously across the open-plan room and the management room ensures a flawless flow of information between dispatchers and command staff.
  • A safe repeat choice: Continuing on proven PCS technology platforms eliminates implementation risk and ensures full compatibility with the center’s operating procedures.
