Case study
Scope and results
We implemented a central management system for an exhibition of nearly 200 multimedia and interactive stations — from video walls and projections, through touchscreens and motion-sensor installations, to multi-zone audio and vertical 86″ displays with video avatars, for which we also produced the content. The museum team runs the entire exhibition from a single panel: swapping content, starting up and shutting down zones on schedules, and monitoring the technical status of every device in real time.
As part of a comprehensive project, we replaced the existing IT architecture with an advanced exhibition management system of our own design. It was configured for the institution’s specific, highly rigorous requirements and tailored precisely to the exhibition’s complex logic.
Exhibition layer and interaction technologies
On the endpoint side, the system handles content playback, synchronization and multi-level interaction with users.
- A diverse display fleet: full support for display and projection hardware — from large-format video walls and projectors, through standard touch panels, to screens with non-standard geometries.
- Spatial interaction and sensing: support for depth sensors, motion sensors and touch technologies.
- Video avatars: vertical 86″ displays with digital guides that respond to visitors’ choices — including production of the video content.
- Multichannel audio: precise distribution of audio tracks, including multi-zone ambient sound.
- Custom applications: development and deployment of new interactive applications based on curatorial scenarios.
Management, monitoring and operational support
At the core of the deployment is a central admin panel that reduces the need for hands-on technical work by the museum team.
- Remote management and CMS: adjusting exhibition operating parameters, swapping content and updating software on any station without physically intervening in the exhibition space.
- Automated control: starting up and shutting down the entire exhibition or selected zones with a single click or on schedules.
- Telemetry monitoring and diagnostics: oversight of hardware operating parameters, enabling proactive detection of potential failures.
- Independent service access: secure remote access for administrators, shortening technical response times.
The new platform turned a fragmented environment into a unified, stable ecosystem. It gives the institution full technological independence and lowers day-to-day maintenance costs. Under an extended support agreement, now in its fifth year, we keep the exhibition running reliably under heavy visitor traffic.
