Case study
Scope and results
At the PGE Dispatch Center (PGE is Poland’s largest energy group), we deployed a VisionCore graphics server that drives a video wall nearly 10 meters wide, built from thirty-two 55″ monitors. The system runs at native 16K resolution, 24/7/365, supporting a critical infrastructure environment.
Native 16K without compromise
- Scale: the 8 × 4 wall forms a panoramic workspace of more than 26 m².
- 15,360 × 4,320 px: the image is displayed at native resolution, with no scaling or loss of quality.
- Continuous operation: enterprise-class components and redundant power and cooling ensure stability under load.
Dispatcher workstation integration
- Hardware HDMI ingest: an instant view of operator workstations alongside the central SCADA diagram.
- Shared analysis: the team can analyze telemetry, alarms and reports simultaneously on a single visual surface.
A mission-critical environment
Power dispatch centers and grid control centers are of strategic importance to national security. In this environment, every system component must ensure continuous 24/7/365 operation — with no delays and no maintenance downtime.
- Field crew safety: an accurate representation of switchgear status and the coordination of outages help protect people working on the lines.
- Crisis management: during severe weather, the system supports fault location, power flow analysis and switching supply for customers.
Sovereignty and engineering support
As a Polish-developed solution, VisionCore provides full control over the hardware and software architecture, reduces the risks that come with external dependencies, and gives direct access to the platform’s developers. Flexible configuration and on-site service with a guaranteed response time support the stable operation of the control room.
Benefits for PGE
- 24/7/365 reliability: a continuous view of grid parameters, every second of the year.
- Readiness for critical situations: faster dispatcher response under threat conditions and during rapidly evolving failures.
- One working ecosystem: a shared decision-making space instead of scattered monitors.
- Local engineering base: a proven solution with full R&D and service support.
